Belly Dance w/ Naimah Dances

Learn classic and modern Middle Eastern style belly dance. Both a social dance and a form of entertainment, belly dance is a great way to meet amazing people and learn about Egyptian history and culture. Pick up the foundational moves and vocabulary of belly dance, while learning about ethics, etiquette, music, and history of belly dance. And be ready to MOVE! We'll explore isolations, spatial awareness, strength, flexibility, and some use of props. All experience levels welcome!

Art To Dine For 2024: From Mud to Music

A festive evening unfolds with Creative Alliance Resident Artist Melissa Hyatt Foss, whose clay instruments are an experiment in sophisticated sound. After sharing a meal of empanadas, beans, rice, tortillas, and more, guests are invited to participate in a guided interactive flute-happening, using a set of clay ocarinas that Melissa sculpted herself. The event culminates in an immersive musical experience, where the group is treated to the unique sounds of ancient and rare instruments like polyphonic flutes, horns, and whistling bottles, woven together seamlessly with live electronics.

Painted Screens Family Workshop

Painted screens are a unique Baltimore folk art. This workshop will include a short film on the history of the painted screen and early painted screen artists and a demonstration of the painted screen technique. Paint a small screen to take home with you based on provided designs or create your own!

Queer Climate Cabaret: Drag King 101 w/ Pretty Boi Drag

Pretty Boi Drag invites you to explore the art of masculine performance in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment. This interactive workshop is designed for all gender expressions, welcoming individuals who are curious, seasoned performers, or those simply looking to embrace their masculine alter ego. Our experienced and talented Drag King instructors will guide you through the intricacies of character development, makeup techniques, costuming, and the art of commanding the stage with confidence. Instructors will engage in a series of fun and dynamic exercises to help you develop your own distinct performance style, from commanding stage presence to perfecting lip-syncing skills. No matter your level of experience, our Drag King Workshop is a judgment-free zone where you can explore, experiment, and evolve into the King you were always meant to be.

Art To Dine For 2024: Farm to Table Feast

If you believe, as hosts Susan Gould and Bo Willse do, that food and dining can be art—part performance, part sensational experience—this is the party for you! Stroll their gardens, the meadow maze, and carefully managed woodland paths. Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a seven-course home-grown, locally sourced, farm-raised feast! Susan and Bo are adventuring towards a sustainable way of bountiful living and invite you to come along!

Art To Dine For 2024: Abbondanza | HOPE & FAITH

Abbondanza is more than a full belly; it is a celebration of fullness and abundance of the soul. This year, Creative Alliance resident artists, HOPE & FAITH, join Chef Fran in the kitchen and at the table. Together they explore food and gathering as artistic expression and serve it up family style at the beautifully renovated Fox Den in Patterson Park.

Our Box Office is currently open from Noon to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and one hour before all ticketed events. We accept cash, cards, and checks. Service fees are waived for in-person ticket purchases.
