TWO SHOWS! The wildly popular Mortified Baltimore, produced by Alex Hewett and Adam Ruben, stars everyday adults sharing their most embarrassingly real teenage diary entries, poems, love letters, lyrics, and locker notes…in front of total strangers.

Akua Allrich | Nina Simone Miriam Makeba Tribute

FRI FEB 16 | 8PM | Nina Simone & Miriam Makeba Tribute with Akua Allrich
Akua Allrich is a local musical treasure with a massive stage personality and vocal style that is fluid and ever-evolving. Her musical roots run deep into blues, soul, and rhythm and blues, with a clear grounding in jazz and Pan-African music. She sings in many languages, including Portuguese, French, Spanish, English, Xhosa, and Twi. Given her ability to capture the essence of a broad range of musical genres, Allrich is often compared to legendary artists such as Miriam Makeba and Nina Simone, both of whom she will honor in this evening’s program.

MON FEB 19 | 3PM | FLOTUS Through the Tunnel of Love
Has the romance gone out of Presidents Day for you? Then head over to the Patterson as The Dan Meyer Choir presents FLOTUS Through the Tunnel of Love. This collection of love poetry by former U.S. First Ladies will be performed in shimmering 4-part harmony by Baltimore’s most original community choir. Come laugh, cry, and experience these American icons, from Martha to Melania, as they open their hearts to you about their husbands … and others.

WED FEB 21 | 7PM | Ethel’s Love Legacy: Ethel Ennis Celebration
Celebrate the music, life, and legacy of Ethel Ennis during an evening inspired by the Ethel’s Place exhibition at Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Library. Performances by acclaimed vocalist Charenée Wade and the Peabody Jazz Ensemble will bring to life some of Ethel’s signature songs. Between song sets, Ethel’s husband Earl Arnett and the singer’s longtime percussionist and friend Gaynell Colburn will share stories of how Ethel spread her love through songs, relationships, and even business ventures. This soulful evening of music, memories, and love is not to be missed!

FRI FEB 2 | 6:30PM | All You Need Is Chocolate Truffles
In this not NOT Valentine’s workshop, make luscious chocolate creations for yourself or your sweetheart and guarantee that they’ll wanna hold your hand. With a little help from our friends, learn about chocolate and how to make beautiful molded chocolates with ganache fillings. While your sweet tooth gently weeps, craft hand-made truffles and make all your troubles seem so far away.

WED FEB 7 | 6:30PM | Magic is My Love Language: A Valentine’s Pop-Up Workshop
Wingpartnerum Lovieosa! Spend a magical night with magicians Annie Montone and Brian Kehoe, otherwise known as The Encounter, Baltimore’s premier stage magic team! This is a unique, adult-oriented opportunity to challenge yourself in our Valentine’s themed pop-up magic class. Partners will learn two to three magic effects that they can perform as a couple. You’ll be a hit at parties! (Pssst! Unsure what to get your love for V-day? It’s the perfect gift!)

FRI FEB 16 | 6:30PM | A Rose By Any Other Name: Valentine’s Workshop
Roses are red, and they are so much more than meets the eye. Learn all about about roses, to include history, healing powers, and how to use rose in culinary delights. Join herbalist Bettina Perry, of Charmington Holistics, for a hands-on, full-sensory learning and tasting experience with rose at the center. Immerse yourself in the aroma and taste of rose by making rose sugar from scratch, then bring your magic sugar home and create something delectable with it! This workshop is perfect for you and a special someone to continue the romance all weekend long.

Learn the art of commanding the stage and owning it like a true diva. This class is designed to teach you the essential elements that elevate a burlesque performance, combining charisma, confidence, and attitude to leave a lasting impression on your audience. In this class, you’ll be guided through a 2-4 minute routine that covers aspects of a burlesque star performance. From learning choreography that complements your style to mastering the art of costume removal with flair, you’ll acquire the skills and stage presence to captivate any audience.
