Super City is back at Creative Alliance for a 2-month residency, this time with local legends Glorian and Eze Jackson! Having released their first album with a record label in 2023, Super City is hitting the road again and starting the year off right in Baltimore. Their Sofaburn Records release, In the Midnight Room, is still traveling the airwaves across the country. Still bringing their melodic, guitar-driven sound to the stage, Super City is known for blending heavy rock elements and danceability, all with band choreography that results in striking live performances. This Baltimore band expertly crafts guitar and synth earworms that thrive on the creative tension between bombastic rock and roll and stylized movements. Their structures and melodies leave no room for a dull track.
Retji, a filmmaker Living in America, wants to reconnect with his African Roots. He goes on a journey back home to Nigeria to learn about his ethnic group, Mupun. Speaking to elders and historians around him, he explores his ancestry and lineage, meditating on scientific findings and oral traditions. His journey unpacks mysteries about the Nok civilization, one of West Africa's earliest complex civilizations.
Steeped in traditional sounds and infused with contemporary energy and imagination, Charm City Junction blasts through the roots music scene with their genre-defying compositions and performances. Together for 10 years, Charm City Junction’s Patrick McAvinue (fiddle & mandolin), Brad Kolodner (clawhammer banjo), Sean McComiskey (button accordion) and Alex Lacquement (upright bass) lock into exuberant grooves and virtuosic musical moments on stage, painting sonic palettes that only a band with their instrumentation can craft. Join them in jubilee as they celebrate 10 years together and the release of their new album Salt Box.
