Formed in 2022, Baltimore supergroup The People’s Longband plays what could broadly be considered “folk rock” interwoven with deeply psychedelic improvisation, reimagining material drawn from North American and British Isles song traditions and nearly two decades’ worth of compositions from singer/guitarist Dave Heumann (Arbouretum).
Together with our partners, The Baltimore National Heritage Area and The American Visionary Arts Museum, Creative Alliance is excited to welcome you to a screening of “Voices of a Black Butterfly” and the accompanying cultural town hall on July 29th at 2 pm. This collaborative effort is an opportunity to bring our communities together to share ideas and communicate what you care about and what you look forward to in the city we call home.
How often do you think about the Afterlife? Is it real, is it awesome, is it scary…..is it safe? Baltimore-based artist George Halkias explores these ideas, fueled by two things he’s obsessed with: death and organized religion. He’s always scared, but his brother, NY-based comedian Stavros Halkias is helping him be brave by putting together a show of his artworks created this past year. I love colored pencils and I think you will too. For two hours on Saturday morning August 5th, you can experience the vibrant visual effects and Zen-like tactile experience of colored pencils. Colored pencils will give you aesthetic freedom and affordable ease of use, unlike any other art medium.

Head down to the Inner Harbor on Saturday, August 5th from 12-8pm to Celebrate the Heart of Latin America in Baltimore with producer Yesenia Mejia Herrera! The day will feature a colorful array of music, art, and dance- with a diverse range of sounds from performers Conjunto Bruja, Banda Guerrerense, Cariño Musical, Son del Sur, Grupo Rompe Cajón, and DJ La Femme; traditional Mexican and Latin American dances by Jovenes en Acción, Comparsa de Chinelos, Danza Folklorica Latina, and Folklore Sin Fronteras; a corn husk making workshop by the Artesanas; and so much more!
Led by Zoë Lintzeris, a Baltimore-based visual artist and Arts in Health specialist, this session will improve your sense of well-being and focus, while calming the mind and restoring energy.
“Youth Against Guns” is a variety arts show created by the 2023 Creative Alliance Teen Council as part of the Youth Works Summer Program. The Show brings to light the problems youth and our community face with gun violence. Teen Council is passionate about bringing change to gun violence through the arts as it affects our friends, family, neighbors, and community members. Spreading the word throughout our community is key to creating a peaceful Baltimore. Teen Council hopes to push this catalyze to ignite into something that changes the view of Baltimore from constant violence and suffering into a place known for its beauty, culture, and history.

Each class begins with a breathing exercise before transitioning into music and movement activities. Taught by Eliza Adams, a Maryland preschool teacher and musician, this class is designed for children 5 and under. Caretakers are welcome to join or watch!

We might be a bit biased, but we think Nathan & The Zydeco Cha Chas are one of the most dynamic zydeco bands on the planet. Led by deeply soulful Nathan Williams, the Cha Chas are a zydeco band with some serious blues chops whose sound is deeply traditional and also uniquely their own.

Our Box Office is currently open from Noon to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and one hour before all ticketed events. We accept cash, cards, and checks. Service fees are waived for in-person ticket purchases.
