Saturday Sept 19th | 12-3pm | CC1
Inspired by the exhibition Esther and the Dream of One Loving Human Family currently on view at the AVAM, we invite you to create a Storycloth artwork with us!
Artist Esther Krinitz’s hand-sewn tapestries depict her memories of survival during the Nazi invasion of Poland and the Holocaust. Inspired by Esther’s powerful practice of telling stories through fabric, participants in this workshop will create a story of their own—no sewing required!
Using fabric, color, texture, and imagination, bring your story to life in your very own Storycloth. This workshop is great for all ages and all levels of artistic experience. Bring a friend or loved one along for more fun.
After the workshop, you’ll be invited to bring your finished creation to AVAM for a special one-night event celebrating community storytelling, where Storycloths and the stories behind them will come together in a shared display.
