Description: Whether you’re new to drag or have previous experience and want to grow your skills, this crash course will help you dive deeper into the multilayered art form of drag. Join us for a fun, supportive introduction to this revolutionary art form. You will meet fellow performers, build community and learn together!
The workshop will start with a brief history and intro to the art of drag. Instructors Bratz and Lula will share their personal drag acts and look formulas, and then will lead small groups to cover specific topics of interest. Finally, we will recap with the group and talk about future performance opportunities and drag workshops at Creative Alliance. Get ready to tease your wig to the heavens, perfect your lip liner, create a stunning silhouette, or block out a sickening performance act.
Instructor Bio:
Hosted by Bratz Lavey and Lula Lioness, you can learn the basics and history of drag from two dolls who eat, live, and breathe the art of drag.
When: Saturday, July 18th 2026 from 3:00-5:00 PM
Where: 2nd floor classroom and dance studio at the Creativity Center at 3137 Eastern Ave.
Experience: No previous performance or drag experience required.
Materials: No materials required, but participants are welcome to bring something to take notes. Participants should wear clothing that is comfortable to move in.
