Jason Austin: Baltimore In Repose Exhibition Opening

Baltimore In Repose invites you to explore the dynamic and diverse narratives of our city. Each piece serves as a window into the lives of friends, places, and loved ones, on a color spectrum that articulates the joy and vibrancy of Baltimore. As you navigate through the exhibition, you'll discover a modern twist to the traditional art-viewing experience. Way-finding QR codes are embedded in each painting, allowing you to seamlessly connect with the depicted locations around the city. This interactive element adds a layer of exploration, inviting you to embark on a journey through Baltimore guided by Jason's artwork. The color spectrum becomes a language, speaking volumes about the artist's connection to the community and his dedication to capturing the essence of everyday life.

Kerplunk! is always free! Join us in the theater after you make your Kerplunk! creation for a screening of Peter Rabbit (2018), popcorn, and other concessions! This is a ticketed event. Be sure to purchase in advance or at the box office.

Figure Drawing w/ Karen Bendersky

This drop-in figure drawing course is suitable for all skill levels. Untrained new artists will learn multiple approaches to figure drawing while seasoned artists will have the opportunity to hone their skills and further train their eye. Each class will feature a nude model and begin with quick gesture poses. The remaining time will be spent on the artistry of longer poses. The goal is to train all artists to more quickly and fluidly capture the gesture of the entire figure.

Handmade Papercutting Patterns w/ Annie Howe

Papercut artist Annie Howe teaches the basic technique of papercutting and how to create your very own custom papercut patterns in this hands-on workshop. Participants will work towards completing at least one finished papercut design and will gain the know-how to continue papercutting at home.

Painted Screens: A Baltimore Folk Art

Painted screens are a unique Baltimore folk art. This workshop will include a short film on the history of the painted screen and the early painted screen artists, a demonstration of the painted screen technique, and painting a small screen. Multiple painting options will be available.

Make a Terrarium w/ B. Willow: Adult Workshop

Create and take home a small tropical ecosystem inside repurposed glassware! These terrariums are inspired by the Amazon Rainforest and other South American rainforests and will showcase plants native to Bolivia, Brazil, and Columbia, including Fittonia (Nerve Plants), Syngonium, Peperomia, Pilea, Philodendron, and Pothos varieties. Design your mini ecosystem however you want, and decorate with stones, cork pieces, and even plastic dinosaurs!

Clay for Everyone: Bmore Clay Series w/ BMORE CLAY

Have you wanted to work with clay but haven't had the opportunity? Bmore Clay Series is a Black and queer-led program created to present an alternative to predominantly white ceramic spaces and provide work opportunities with clay. We host accessible, diverse, intro to hand-building workshops created for communities of color in Baltimore. This workshop is open to everyone.

CAPRICORN: A Fashion Exhibition & Presentation by NESSA

Jasmin Nessa Ali is a Guyanese fashion designer from Queens, New York. She moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 2018, where she graduated with a BFA in Fiber and Experimental Fashion from Maryland Institute College. Currently, she is working on designing and releasing unique, hybrid clothing collections out of her bedroom studio. The main pillars of her brand, NESSA, are utilitarianism and Indo-Caribbean aesthetics. The purpose of the brand is to elevate collaboration among artists and speak power to Guyanese people for as long as NESSA thrives.

Our Box Office is currently open from Noon to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and one hour before all ticketed events. We accept cash, cards, and checks. Service fees are waived for in-person ticket purchases.
