Rissa Fine-Karpoff gives the lowdown on the basics of weaving and then shows you how to create your very own mug rug (coaster) to take home! There will be a large selection of yarns and patterns to choose from, or you can create your own unique pattern. In addition to the small loom you will make your mug rug on, there will be two more complex looms to try out as well.
Join artists for monthly Open Critique in our Marquee Lounge! Each session is an open forum to show 1-2 examples of your artwork and receive feedback from experienced artists from varying mediums and backgrounds.

This workshop is intended for producers and event organizers, but is open to all who have an interest in creating safer spaces in nightlife and entertainment. We will discuss the roles and responsibilities of creating a consent-centered event as well as preventing and responding to consent violations.
We'll learn a one minute burlesque routine involving big, unapologetic movement, then discuss how you can practice not shrinking for anyone on a daily basis.

This open level class that utilizes elements of fitness conditioning, sensual movement, and dance theory, to provide the student with a total mind and body movement experience. In this 60-minute class, students will learn the Liquid Motion® Fundamentals to build a foundation for floor work & wall work.
Students will explore the rich history of Black burlesque and drag shows in America, including the sociopolitical and cultural dynamics that both separate and intertwine these communities. There will be a focus on local DMV burlesque and drag history.

This class was created to pull many out of their comfort zone and bring forth an all new level of self confidence with emphasis on style, grace & stage presence.

We will progress through act creation from start to finish while incorporating mindful techniques for both on and off the stage. Essential Tease is the ideal starting point for truly transformative acts! This eight-week in-person workshop series is conducted at Creative Alliance in Baltimore, MD, and concludes with a ticketed, live student showcase!
Registration includes eight weeks of prepared lessons, out-of-class coaching and one-on-one mentorship, complimentary costume add-ons and crafting sessions, access to an online community with your peers, as well as the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a student showcase on the Creative Alliance main stage!

In Painting For Life, learn to paint from the heart! Through meditation, inspiration, and creation, this workshop invites a letting go of control and embracing your artistic impulses. Enter a flow state and express yourself from a place of intuition and integrity. The workshop closes with reflecting on the process and creations and offering support and affirmation as a generous community.
