“dancing with my shadows: a journey to self-discovery” is an immersive solo exhibition exploring the evolution of HOPE, reflecting on her inner journey towards self-discovery. The artwork is a testament to HOPE’s exploration of her inner world, delving into the realms of spirituality, self-love, shadow work, and healing. These self-portraits capture moments of vulnerability and transformation, reflecting her personal quests to understand and accept her shadows and mental health, seeking inner peace.

Baltimore Meets Bahia: An A GENTE Fundraiser

Experience what emerges when Black artists from Baltimore City blend their arts practices with the rich Black arts of Bahia, Brasil. The shared roots of the African Diaspora will be shaking beneath our dancing feet! This is a kickoff event for A GENTE, an artist residency in Baltimore and Bahia that is all about artistic co-creation, inner healing through faith and love, and social imagination. Blending capoeira in the street out front of the Creative Alliance with Black Assets’ vocals and TWZ’s live painting, our artists will have you moved. You will have the chance to take part in sending these Baltimore artists to Bahia, Brasil in November 2024 by donating or bidding in an art auction featuring artists from across the Diaspora.

Free Baltimore Yoga is a safe space grounded in community movement. Our sessions aim to be accessible trauma-informed, nervous- system -focused, and breath- centered. Class from May through October will take place outside in Patterson Park! All ages!

Home Ec for Grownups: Quilt Trip

Step into a world of creativity, practicality, and HOMEMAKING/SURVIVAL SKILLS in this adults-only monthly workshop. In the Home Ec experience you *wish* you'd had, explore traditional homemaking with a sprinkling of badassery. From stamps to mending to DIY decor, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to hone your home skills for WHATEVER the future of late-stage capitalism may bring.

Create quilt squares using a wide variety techniques and styles! Settle down, get cozy, and begin working on quilts to keep warm all through the nuclear winter (or just a normal Baltimore winter that's cool too).

Monthly Juggling Jam: All Levels

Whether you're a seasoned pro with chainsaws and large cats or a juggling newcomer who sometimes struggles with just catching a break, all are welcome at Creative Alliance's new monthly juggling jam! In this all-levels program, come ready to practice, play, and pal around with area jugglers, juggling enthusiasts, and people who are just too cool to *not* be in the jam. Fundamentals instruction available for newcomers in this accessible and joyful juggling jamboree!

Fundamentals of Improv: Level 3 w/ Highwire Improv

Students will continue their growth from Fundamentals of Improv Level 2 to begin developing their own performance style and begin learning other forms beyond the Montage. By exploring a wide variety of improv skills, including game, character, walk-ons, tag-outs, openings, and callbacks, students will build a personal toolbox for their improv journey.

Learning to Live Fully: Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

This monthly program shares ways to meet the challenges of daily life by staying connected to our choices without reacting to people and situations. This is an opportunity to discover well-being within your body and mind regardless of your situation. On alternating months, the program will be conducted in Spanish.

The Mixer: Improv Jam with Highwire Improv

Join Highwire Improv for a community improv jam. Open to all levels, we'll get settled with introductions, some group warm-ups, and a boundaries check-in to make sure we're all ready to play our best with one another. Everyone will get a chance to privately share their comfort level with improv, and then we'll be sorted into teams with a mix of folks from beginner to experienced. Each team will get time on stage while the rest of the groups cheer, laugh, and support.  We'll start with straightforward two-person improv scenes before building up to more advanced moves like walk-on characters and group scenes. After each team has had their turn, we'll all share some things that made us laugh, and folks will be free to hang out, chat, and connect with some new and old improv friends!

The BIG Show opening night begins with a salon style exhibition opening from 6-8PM where all of our members (kids too!) are invited to put one piece in the show. Then, we move into the theater for a variety show like no other! Any member can sign up to flaunt their talents on stage! This is a family friendly night that is FREE for members and open to the public. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand (or begin) your art collection! 

ELVIS’ BIRTHDAY FIGHT CLUB – HALF BIRTHDAY Virtual Broadcast

Celebrate Elvis' Half Birthday with a virtual rebroadcast of the 2024 Elvis' Birthday Fight Club. If you missed this SOLD OUT January event, or if you just want to see it again, buying a ticket gives you streaming access to watch for ONE WEEK! This legendary underground fight club offers a "glamorously sleazy" show of cartoon-like violence, flim-flam fisticuffs, below-the-belt comedy, and hot tah-tahs overseen by co-hosts "Elvis" and Kittie Glitter. Grab a horseshoe, rabbit foot, or bowl of Lucky Charms to stream the 13th Elvis' Birthday Fight from the comfort of your own couch or wherever you call Graceland. Impress your friends and get them ready for 2025 coming to DC Jan 3-4 and the Creative Alliance Jan 17-18.

The Amazing Acro-Cats

The Amazing Acro-Cats, featured in the Netflix series Cat People, are coming to Baltimore! This troupe of trained domestic house cats, all former orphans, rescues, and strays, give a one-of-a-kind purrformance that includes cats riding skateboards, jumping through hoops, ringing bells, balancing on balls, and performing other feats of agility and entertainment. The show finale is the only all-cat band in the world: Tuna and the Rock Cats! The Rock Cats play guitar, drums, and piano, and they've been joined by the Jazz Cats on saxophone, trumpet, and clarinet.

Mud to Music: Clay Flutes

Musical instruments have helped us communicate and express ourselves since the beginning of human culture. Learning about the musical instruments of the ancient Americas and building and playing our own instruments helps us to awaken the memory of our connection to nature, cultivate presence through the working with clay, and experience joy through sound and music-making. In this hands-on workshop we will learn about musical instruments that have been made across Central and South America for thousands of years and learn to build our own working clay flutes.

Vibes N Volumes is a welcoming, facilitated experience that helps you connect with your favorite/current book and the joy of reading, with live curated music to set the mood. Crank away at your latest read in dedicated silent reading sections, with opportunities to connect with other booklovers through prompts and easy breakouts. Drinks available, with a range of beers, wines, and specialty cocktails and mocktails on our Marquee Lounge menu.

Cooking Up Summer Vibes w/ Chef Keith Curley

Bask in the tastiest vibes of the season with Chef Keith Curley. Here, the AC is cool but the flavors are on fire! Refresh your senses with peach and pecan salad, complete with crisp greens and homemade pickles. After that, get fresh with some red pepper and olive salsa. But that's just the beginning! Awaiting your culinary touch is a spread of chimichurri sauce, seared flank steak, and rosemary roasted potatoes. In this feast for the senses (and your belly), learn from the best for a meal that's sure to impress!

Clay for Everyone: Bmore Clay Series w/ BMORE CLAY

Have you wanted to work with clay but haven't had the opportunity? Bmore Clay Series is a Black and queer-led program created to present an alternative to predominantly white ceramic spaces and provide work opportunities with clay. We host accessible, diverse, intro to hand-building workshops created for communities of color in Baltimore. This workshop is open to everyone.

Those Who Art Together: A Casual Critique w/ HOPE

Join artists for monthly Open Critique—one of Creative Alliance's longest-running programs! This is an opportunity to share artwork in progress, engage with local artists, and build community. This event is free for members, and this month is hosted by artist HOPE! Each session is an open forum to show 1-2 examples of your artwork and receive feedback from experienced artists from varying mediums and backgrounds.

Our Box Office is currently open from Noon to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and one hour before all ticketed events. We accept cash, cards, and checks. Service fees are waived for in-person ticket purchases.
