Living Out LOUD!

Are you a “sing in the shower” newbie seeking the confidence to perform a special song for a special someone? Are you an experienced performer looking to take your artistry to the next level? Or are you somewhere in-between looking to expand your repertoire, hone your craft, and/or increase your comfort zone? Regardless of where you are on your cabaret journey, this program is for you! While other vocal genres reveal a performer’s relationship with their voice, cabaret reveals a performer’s relationship with their heart and soul. Consequently, cabaret welcomes, embraces, and celebrates anyone with the desire to express themselves through performance. Register now to ensure your song is heard!

Where: Creativity Center, 3137 Eastern Ave. Baltimore MD 21224
When: Feb. 11 – Mar. 10, Sundays 1-3:30 PM
Age Range: 16+
Cost: $300 standard, $250 members
Requirements: Curiosity and willingness to perform!

Instructor Bio
Mezzo-soprano Jennifer Blades has a versatile career that includes performing, directing, and teaching. An avid cabaret singer, Ms. Blades has been hailed as “always engaging” with a “juicy” and “colorful” tone. She has performed several original shows throughout the United States, at clubs such as Don’t Tell Mama in NYC, Davenport’s in Chicago, Midtown Theater in New Orleans, and The Cabaret at Germano’s in Baltimore. Her debut cabaret album, My Funny Valentine, was recorded in New York City with legendary cabaret pianist/arranger Rick Jensen. Ms. Blades has taught several cabaret classes and workshops including Peabody Opera’s Cabaret Class, where she encouraged opera singers to sing less, focus on the text, and speak directly to the audience with use of a microphone. In her home studio, she works directly with cabaret singers looking to craft their own shows and guides them through the entire process from finding songs to final performance.
