Highwire Improv's expert instructors will be with you every step of the way, holding the space to make silly choices, explore comedy, and learn how to create art together. By the end of the class, you will be an ensemble ready to host and put on a full student showcase!

We live many lives in one lifetime. Spirit and faith keep us breathing and moving: they tell us to rebuild after breaking down. HAVE FAITH is an innovative solo exhibition inviting viewers on a journey into the depths of faith by exploring its intricate, layered connections to life, death, and personal power. Through a network of immersive soundscapes, interactive installations, reflective poetry, and symbolic visuals, this exhibition experience and its public programming evoke a sense of rebirth and spiritual awakening while reflecting on the past lives we carry within us.
Black Assets was born Ashley Yates from Itta Bena, Mississippi. She is the representation of the new era of fun, soul, rock and RnB music. We welcome Black Assets back to The Patterson for a headline gig, and the first in her new series "The Soul Stage" highlighting the future of Soul music in Baltimore by showcasing new and upcoming soul, funk, indie artists from the Baltimore scene. Soul music changed the world! Artists like Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Dwele, Musiq Soul Child, India Arie, Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and more touched the hearts of countless people around the globe for decades, also making a huge impact in hip hop music via sample culture. It brought harmonies and rifts to rock music, and has been the soundtrack to many of our favorite movies. With the impact that it has had on her life, Black Assets wants to bring the soul back to the Charm City and trail blaze a lane for it here in Baltimore by amplifying critical local voices.

Join the parade! Parade leaves from Patterson Park Pulaski Monument (Between Eastern Ave. & S. Linkwood Ave.) and walks along Eastern Ave. to Creative Alliance (3134 Eastern Ave.). El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Mexican celebration that honors deceased family members with a colorful, exciting, traditional celebration. The CIELO department is happy to bring this annual holiday to Baltimore to remember our loved ones who passed away but stay in our hearts. So, dress up, paint your face, and join us for a family procession with the gigantic Catrin and Catrina puppets, a Mariachi band, and neighbors to walk from Patterson Park to Creative Alliance! Artesanas welcome you with homemade hot chocolate and pan del Día de los Muerto (Day of the Dead bread). Continue celebrating El Día de los Muertos with performances, live music, costume contests, making traditional art work with the Artesanas, and more!

Each class begins with a breathing exercise before transitioning into music and movement activities. This monthly program shares ways to meet the challenges of daily life by staying connected to our choices without reacting to people and situations. This is an opportunity to discover well-being within your body and mind regardless of your situation. On alternating months, the program will be conducted in Spanish.
Join Highwire Improv for a community improv jam. Open to all levels, we'll get settled with introductions, some group warm-ups, and a boundaries check-in to make sure we're all ready to play our best with one another. Everyone will get a chance to privately share their comfort level with improv, and then we'll be sorted into teams with a mix of folks from beginner to experienced. Each team will get time on stage while the rest of the groups cheer, laugh, and support. We'll start with straightforward two-person improv scenes before building up to more advanced moves like walk-on characters and group scenes. After each team has had their turn, we'll all share some things that made us laugh, and folks will be free to hang out, chat, and connect with some new and old improv friends!
The Third Annual Irish Tenor Banjo Summit takes over Creative Alliance on November 15th and 16th! Join us for a full weekend of dancing, performances, and workshops celebrating traditional Irish music. The brunch, talks, and sessions on November 17 to cap the weekend will take place at the Green Room in Hampden. Full festival passes are available as well as tickets to individual events.
Enter into a cabinet of curiosities, and explore an expansive collection of everyday objects and art pieces amassed during the host's 40-year career in Africa and Haiti. Artist Carla Stetson, presents mixed media works from her series, Ornithography, as well as other large-scale ink drawings and paintings. Sip on bissap—hibiscus juice from West Africa—and mulled wine and dine on Soup Joumou, Haiti's national dish, which represents freedom and independence from the enslavement of French colonizers.

Jewelry designer Shana Kroiz and her husband, hair stylist Edward Seidel, host a lively dinner where guests are encouraged to play with their food! Gourmet cook Eddie prepares foods in interesting shapes, colors, textures, and patterns that guests can sculpt into visual presentations, inspired by the organic designs of Shana's jewelry. Shana discusses her inspiration and production and invites guests to visit her in-house studio and showroom.
This drop-in figure drawing course is suitable for all skill levels. Untrained new artists will learn multiple approaches to figure drawing while seasoned artists will have the opportunity to hone their skills and further train their eye. Each class will feature a nude model and begin with quick gesture poses. The remaining time will be spent on the artistry of longer poses. The goal is to train all artists to more quickly and fluidly capture the gesture of the entire figure.

BMORE CLAY is now at Creative Alliance. We are excited to extend to this location. Thank you for being a part of our clay community! BCS is a Black and queer-led program created to present an alternative to predominantly white ceramic spaces and provide work opportunities with clay. We host accessible, diverse, intro to handbuilding workshops created for communities of color in Baltimore. This workshop is open to everyone.

Let CA's Artesana Zoila teach you to cook a feast with Ecuadorian hornado as the centerpiece. This traditional dish has pre-Columbian origins, with indigenous cooking techniques that involved hot stones and banana leaves. With the arrival of the Spanish, new culinary techniques and seasonings were incorporated, giving rise to hornado as we know it today. Warm the soul (and belly) this fall at the Artesanas Table!

Learn the art of fused glass with artist Viki Keating. Place and layer glass scraps to create a unique holiday ornament of your own fabulous design. Ornaments will be fired in a kiln and will be ready for pickup one week after the workshop.

In the late 1960s, taking their cue from American rock bands like The Byrds, The Band, and The Flying Burrito Brothers, who had forged American roots music with rock and roll, British bands like Fairport Convention and The Pentangle began to do the same with their own folk music roots. What blossomed from this in the early 1970s was a British folk-rock boom, with acts such as Steeleye Span, John Martyn, Nick Drake, and many more joining the fray, and succeeding in making their mark not only in Britain but also on the US music scene.
