Resting at the intersection of Swarovski capes, sparkly spandex, and erotic fanfiction; Nerdlesque is an artform unlike any other. Maki Roll (She/Her) will teach you how to elevate your pop culture performance art and undress your favorite nerdy characters (and concepts) for every audience.
This open level class that utilizes elements of fitness conditioning, sensual movement, and dance theory, to provide the student with a total mind and body movement experience. In this 60-minute class, students will learn the Liquid Motion® Fundamentals to build a foundation for floor work & wall work.
Students will explore the rich history of Black burlesque and drag shows in America, including the sociopolitical and cultural dynamics that both separate and intertwine these communities. There will be a focus on local DMV burlesque and drag history.

Everyone is welcome to grab a lantern and march with thousands of neighbors, artists, musicians, and performers. Our Box Office is currently open from Noon to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and one hour before all ticketed events. We accept cash, cards, and checks. Service fees are waived for in-person ticket purchases.
