A livelier life drawing event, Dr. Sketchy's is where artists of all levels draw fabulous burlesque and variety performers! Enjoy delicious cocktails and a performance by the model, and compete in zany drawing contests to win free drinks and other awesome prizes!
Join us for “Brighter Days”, Symmetry Arts’ first annual Spring Recital. This performance will showcase students’ dance skills and performance quality! Symmetry Arts, owned and directed by Shianne Williams-Brown, is a dance studio located in Essex, MD which was established in 2021.
Are you ready to finally take the leap and see what burlesque is all about? Or, are you a current performer who is thinking about reimagining your relationship to burlesque?
Our team of experienced burlesque instructors will guide you through becoming a burlesque performer inside and out. We will progress through act creation from start to finish while incorporating mindful techniques for both on and off the stage. Essential Tease is the ideal starting point for truly transformative acts! This eight-week in-person workshop series is conducted at Creative Alliance in Baltimore, MD, and concludes with a ticketed, live student showcase!
Registration includes eight weeks of prepared lessons, out-of-class coaching and one-on-one mentorship, complimentary costume add-ons and crafting sessions, access to an online community with your peers, as well as the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a student showcase on the Creative Alliance main stage!

Join artists for monthly Open Critique in our Marquee Lounge! Each session is an open forum to show 1-2 examples of your artwork and receive feedback from experienced artists from varying mediums and backgrounds. Try the art of Kumihimo, a traditional Japanese art form of making braided cord. We’ll learn how to use a braiding disk to make a braid of eight strands, then we’ll learn a different technique to create an adjustable, slip-on bracelet. You’ll even be able to add a small charm if you like

Throughout her fruitful independent career, spanning three EPs and multiple collaborations, Madison has earned accolades from The New York Times, NPR, The FADER, and Pitchfork, who named her a Rising Artist in 2018. Her genre-bending work has led to Questlove dubbing her early sound “soul-appella.”
Shake out your sillies with song, nursery rhymes, puppet shows, instruments, and, of course, a dance party! Each class begins with a breathing exercise before transitioning into music and movement activities. Taught by Eliza Adams, a Maryland preschool teacher and musician, this class is designed for children 5 and under. Caretakers are welcome to join or watch!
Learn from Brazilian samba master percussionist André Coelho from Rio de Janeiro! André will demonstrate and teach each of the essential Brazilian samba percussion instruments. We will have some percussion instruments available for participants to use, but please bring your own instruments if you have any.
Learn the basics of Recife’s carnival dance, frevo! Dancer and scholar Kate Spanos will demonstrate and teach this fun, high energy dance using the methodology of Mexe Com Tudo (Otávio Bastos) of Recife, which highlights personal expression and freedom.
Learn samba from Ilheuma Zezeh, Brazilian dancer, teacher, choreographer, performer, and healer from São Paulo with a mission to bring more joy to the world through art. Ilheuma Zezeh will demonstrate and teach the basics of samba dance.

Singing Storytime in Spanish is about giving parents and caregivers fun and easy ideas in Spanish of things they can do with their babies/kids that encourage interaction and early literacy in this new language.

Our Box Office is currently open from Noon to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and one hour before all ticketed events. We accept cash, cards, and checks. Service fees are waived for in-person ticket purchases.
