God Couldn’t be Everywhere …That’s Why He Made Momma: Lendl Tellington & Salome Sykes Exhibition

As they realize they could lose their matriarch's home, Salome Sykes and Lendl Tellington turn the camera on their great-grandmother and her nine descendants in order to preserve their family’s legacy. As the brother and sister interview kinfolk, sift through albums, and wade through a century of family furniture, they reimagine these elements as a collection of sensory-driven installations, photography, and cinematic vignettes inspired by generational memories and revelations.

Taking Space Exhibition

Your voice is valid, and we need it in this world. Taking Space is an exhibition that celebrates Latino artists based in Baltimore expressing their love of their cultures and elevating the conversation of their cultures. Each artist has a unique perspective of the Latino community, or Latinidad, and their individual stories of hope, happiness, and history. The artists come from different backgrounds and experiences. Each artist will showcase painting, sculpture, and other mediums to dig deeper into the cultural diversity of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The Art Walk is FREE to attend, with drink and food specials at restaurants and bars like Snake Hill, Sally O’s, and IndoViet.

Taking Space Exhibition Opening

Can I Kick It? events take cult classics and contemporary martial arts/action favorites and LIVE scores the film with a blend of genres such as hip hop, soul, and funk.

The People’s Longband

Formed in 2022,  Baltimore supergroup The People’s Longband plays what could broadly be considered “folk rock” interwoven with deeply psychedelic improvisation, reimagining material drawn from North American and British Isles song traditions and nearly two decades’ worth of compositions from singer/guitarist Dave Heumann (Arbouretum).

SOLD OUT – ESSENTIAL TEASE: A Transformative Burlesque Class Series

Are you ready to finally take the leap and see what burlesque is all about? Or, are you a current performer who is thinking about reimagining your relationship to burlesque? 

Our team of experienced burlesque instructors will guide you through becoming a burlesque performer inside and out. We will progress through act creation from start to finish while incorporating mindful techniques for both on and off the stage. Essential Tease is the ideal starting point for truly transformative acts! This eight-week in-person workshop series is conducted at Creative Alliance in Baltimore, MD, and concludes with a ticketed, live student showcase! 

Registration includes eight weeks of prepared lessons, out-of-class coaching and one-on-one mentorship, complimentary costume add-ons and crafting sessions, access to an online community with your peers, as well as the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a student showcase on the Creative Alliance main stage! 

Essential Tease welcomes ALL gender identities, abilities, ages, sexualities, races, religions, AND experience levels. All humans welcome, and all bodies are burlesque bodies!

Discover hidden gems, such as a family cemetery, a Zen garden, and 300-year-old oak trees. After the ride, take time to absorb the history and majesty of the park while you devour a delicious vegan lunch.

Our Box Office is currently open from Noon to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and one hour before all ticketed events. We accept cash, cards, and checks. Service fees are waived for in-person ticket purchases.
