In addition to the small loom you will make your mug rug on, there will be two more complex looms to try out as well.

This workshop will include a short film on the history of the painted screen and early painted screen artists and a demonstration of the painted screen technique. Instructor GiGi Holliday, teaches you the ins and outs of classic burlesque movement! Of the many moves associated with classic burlesque, there is the bump & grind—two great foundational moves that any performer can use to build a dynamic and entertaining act. Classic burlesque moves are great tools to have in your performer shimmy belt. In addition to learning classic moves, students will explore ways to implement them for use with live bands and the occasional "oh no" moments on stage. Students should wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. No prior dance experience is necessary.

Alash are masters of Tuvan throat singing, a remarkable technique for singing multiple pitches at the same time. Masters of traditional Tuvan instruments as well as the art of throat singing, Alash are deeply committed to traditional Tuvan music and culture. At the same time, they are fans of western music. Believing that traditional music must constantly evolve, the musicians subtly infuse their songs with western elements, creating their own unique style that is fresh and new, yet true to their Tuvan musical heritage.

We'll start off with quick 1- and 2-minute gesture poses and gradually move up to 20-minute sketches. No drawing experience is necessary; just bring your own drawing materials—and cash tips for our model—and join us for some fun figure sketching practice!
