Dive into an immersive experience via grounding the body through art, sound, meditation, and more. The flow of this workshop provides focus and calm to the participants, so they walk away with tangible techniques to better their mental health. The program is circular: breath (meditation), mandala-making (art), then group reflection on the process of making the art and its emotional effects. Jeanne Marie will then lead her sound session, and another art-making experience will stem from the effects of the sound on participants, followed by a group discussion and closing breath.
Explore the fundamentals of Contact Improvisation, an open-ended form of dance that embraces the kinesthetic possibilities of bodies moving through contact. The first half of each session will focus on a particular skill or principle. The second half of the session will move into an open jam (with some guidance), in which participants are able to integrate what they've been learning. All levels of experience are welcome.
