Celebrating Latin American Heritage Month!
Free Latin American Artisan Market & Festival
This special Tianquiztli Market celebrates Latin American Heritage! We close the street in front of Creative Alliance for a celebration of Latin American flavors, art, music, and traditions that have been passed down through the generations and are treasured here in Baltimore. Enjoy live performances, music, vendors, and traditional workshops that reflect the colors, sounds, textures, and flavors of many Latin American countries.
Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates Hispanic American culture and contributions to American society and culture. The celebration originated in 1968. Two decades later, legislators extended the duration of the celebration to one month, from September 15 to October 15. Hispanics contribute to our nation’s success in extraordinary ways – they serve in the military and government, attend schools across the United States, and strengthen the economy. At Tianquiztli we are celebrating great characters who have marked our endeavors, today we honor Carlos Santana (musician & singer), Frida Kahlo (painter), and Jose Andres (chef).
