This drop-in figure drawing course is suitable for all skill levels. Untrained new artists will learn multiple approaches to figure drawing while seasoned artists will have the opportunity to hone their skills and further train their eye. Each class will feature a nude model and begin with quick gesture poses. The remaining time will be spent on the artistry of longer poses. The goal is to train all artists to more quickly and fluidly capture the gesture of the entire figure.

Instructor Bio
Karen Bendersky is a fine artist trained in the methods and techniques of the old masters. Her work has been shown in galleries in Baltimore, MD, Bethesda, MD, and Charleston, NC where she is represented by the Dog and Horse Fine Art Gallery. As a graduate of the Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore, MD, she has extensive course experience in figure drawing and anatomy. Before becoming a professional artist, she was a psychology professor with twenty years of lecture experience. She now creates art in the realism tradition that embodies themes such as struggle, loneliness, isolation, darkness, depression, anger, but also hope, beauty, and humor.
