Self-care Workshop
Love color? Feeling creative? Want to have fun? Don’t want to spend a lot of money on art supplies? Join us for a fresh and exciting Colored Pencil Workshop with artist Jan Eveland!
I love colored pencils and I think you will too. For two hours on Saturday morning August 5th, you can experience the vibrant visual effects and Zen-like tactile experience of colored pencils. Colored pencils will give you aesthetic freedom and affordable ease of use, unlike any other art medium.
You’ll learn about color layering, basic colored pencil pigment, and be able to feel out different brands of colored pencils. You can experiment with drawing surfaces to find what will work best for you—from cold press white paper to hot press black paper, from eggs to ping pong balls—you’ll expand your horizons. And you’ll leave the workshop with your own drawing and enough knowledge and basic tools to continue to practice at home!
Location: Creativity Center, 3137 Eastern Ave. Baltimore MD 21224
Age Range: Adults of all experience levels (14+)
Cost: $45 per class, $40 Members
Materials: All materials provided by artist. Participants will leave with their creations and a “starter set” of colored pencils!
Note: Jan Eveland’s work is part of the Ecologies exhibition on view in the Amalie Rothschild Gallery from 7 JUL – 12 AUG.
