Learn classic and modern Middle Eastern style belly dance. Both a social dance and a form of entertainment, belly dance is a great way to meet amazing people and learn about Egyptian history and culture. Pick up the foundational moves and vocabulary of belly dance, while learning about ethics, etiquette, music, and the history of belly dance. Be ready to MOVE! We’ll explore isolations, spatial awareness, strength, flexibility, and some use of props.

Cost: $20 per session, $16 members, $60 for all 4 classes
Materials: Comfortable dance pants, no skirts, quiet hip scarves optional, ballet slippers, socks, or bare feet (no street shoes)
Instructor Bio
Naimah is a multi-award winning belly dancer from Baltimore, Maryland, and director of award-winning troupe, Amandari Dance Company. With a background in ballet, modern, hip hop, and African dance, her style is best described as eclectic and eccentric. She teaches online and in-person classes on a multitude of topics pertaining to belly dance including history, culture, props, stage presence, and performance prep, all of which she refers to as the “Multiverse of Movement.” She is also a certified group fitness instructor, licensed makeup artist, and trained apparel designer. Naimah has produced many shows in Maryland and is currently the co- producer of “Art of the Belly” belly dance festival in Ocean City, Maryland.
