Born in Chicago, Claudia’s appreciation for art began at an early age with visits to the Art Institute of Chicago. She studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Illustration. She moved to the Washington, DC area in 1983, and five years later moved to the Bay Area in California. She returned to the Washington area in 1992 and has actively shown her work in various galleries throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Her work endeavors to express the lyrical power of nature using abstraction. Color is a major vehicle in her work. Iris and Dorian are her companions (two poodles).
