Learning to Live Fully: Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

This monthly program shares ways to meet the challenges of daily life by staying connected to our choices without reacting to people and situations. This is an opportunity to discover well-being within your body and mind regardless of your situation. On alternating months, the program will be conducted in Spanish.

The 4th Annual Black Choreographers Festival

The Black Choreographers Festival is a weekend celebrating the talented Black choreographers in Baltimore. Join us at Creative Alliance October 11-13 for dance performances, workshop dance classes, and a thought provoking Chat & Chew discussion. Shake Out Your Sillies

Shake out your sillies with song, nursery rhymes, puppet shows, instruments, and, of course, a dance party! Each class begins with a breathing exercise before transitioning into music and movement activities. Taught by Eliza Adams, a Maryland preschool teacher and musician, this class is designed for children 5 and under. Caretakers are welcome to join or watch!

Come on back to one of Creative Alliance’s most popular ongoing class series! Knock the dust off that ol' uke, and join Bob Friedman in this beginner-friendly ukulele program. Each class is standalone and covers 8-10 songs per session. Register for all five for the full Ukxperience!

Classical Figure Drawing w/ Lauren Carlo

This drop-in figure drawing course is suitable for all skill levels. Untrained new artists will learn multiple approaches to figure drawing while seasoned artists will have the opportunity to hone their skills and further train their eye. Each class will feature a nude model and begin with quick gesture poses. The remaining time will be spent on the artistry of longer poses. The goal is to train all artists to more quickly and fluidly capture the gesture of the entire figure.

Handmade Papercutting Patterns w/ Annie Howe

Papercut artist Annie Howe teaches the basic technique of papercutting and how to create your very own custom papercut patterns in this hands-on workshop. Participants will work towards completing at least one finished papercut design and will gain the know-how to continue papercutting at home.

Queer Climate Cabaret: Climate, Queerness, and Performance 101

The climate crisis and the rise of anti-queer sentiments and actions can stimulate fear and anxiety. They are also an invitation to mend, tend, and befriend our relationship to our own bodies and the earth, who supports our lives even in her own state of woundedness, and an invitation to get creative, think and act differently. Join us in Patterson Park for a grounding and centering session with Michele, your own body, and some beautiful Baltimore trees. Back in the studio at the Creativity Center, Jacob takes us through an overview of his work uniting drag and queer ecology and a printmaking experience that will leave you with some take-home art! Nigel rounds out Workshop 1 with an overview of sustainability practices in theatre and performance and devising exercises that integrate and synthesize elements of the workshop.

Lion’s Mane Crabcakes with BaltiSpore

This once-in-a-mycelium event is a unique chance to create a vegan or vegetarian version of a Maryland favorite—the crab cake—from lion's mane mushrooms. Learn to harvest, prep, and cook while discovering the benefits of the lion's mane mushroom and its impact on the carbon footprint of the food industry.

Explore the fundamentals of Contact Improvisation, an open-ended form of dance that embraces the kinesthetic possibilities of bodies moving through contact. Build skills through exploring principles of weight sharing, embodied listening, and collaborative movement. All levels of experience are welcome.

Our Box Office is currently open from Noon to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and one hour before all ticketed events. We accept cash, cards, and checks. Service fees are waived for in-person ticket purchases.
