This dance class about our relationship to the floor invites all levels of experience and is geared toward people who are curious to discover deeper connection and relationship to their bodies in dynamic motion. Learn how to use the support of the floor to your advantage, explore how your anatomy (particularly soft tissue and joints) can support finding easeful pathways into and out of the floor movement, and discover patterns useful for changing levels and falling. The class will be structured with a guided somatic warmup, improvisational exploration based on prompts, and simple movement motifs across the floor. Messing up is encouraged—it’s how we learn!
