Traditional and new Technologies
The program travels through the sonic geography of the continent—from Alaska to Patagonia— presenting the ancestral sounds of instruments from Mayan, Aztec, Mochica, Inca, and Amazonian cultures, together with digital motion sensors, real-time spectral transformations and sound programming. The activity will introduce participants to the organological and sonic diversity of the cultures of the Americas, within the intersection between musical heritage, contemporary creation, and musical technologies.
The activity creates a dialogue on the processes of research, composition, avant-garde sound technology and instrument construction developed by the orchestra over more than twenty years of work.
