About the Artist

Lyon is a Baltimore-based teacher, designer, and photographer, inspired by his childhood in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He teaches motion graphics, 3D design, and special effects at the Maryland Institute College of Art and Baltimore School for the Arts. Growing up in Amsterdam, he learned to notice social interactions on the streets, a practice he continues in Baltimore during his daily commute. He exhibits regularly and is an active member of Baltimore’s robust photography community.

Lyon prioritizes experimentation over rigid rules—technical knowledge is simply a method for creative freedom. He teaches students that understanding fundamentals of composition, hierarchy, and light helps them shape their perspective and develop their artistic voice.
