About The Last Dragon
A stunning example of 1980’s camp cinema! In New York City, a young man searches for a Master to obtain the final level of martial arts mastery known as “the Glow.” Leroy Green (Taimak), a young martial artist living in New York City, trains tirelessly to attain the same level of mastery as the great Bruce Lee. One night, his life changes forever when he rescues television personality Laura Charles (Vanity) from evil businessman Eddie Arkadian (Chris Murney). Impressed by Leroy’s bravery, Laura falls for Leroy — but to keep her safe, he will have to defeat a gang leader named Sho’nuff (Julius J. Carry III), the self-styled Shogun of Harlem.
About SHAOLIN JAZZ
In 2017, SHAOLIN JAZZ teamed up with the Downtown DC Business Improvement District to produce their first CAN I KICK IT? outdoor film screening series at Freedom Plaza. That series brought out crowds of 300+ people each week. In August 2018, they were featured in the 23rd Annual Made in Hong Kong Film Festival presented by the Smithsonian’s Freer Gallery of Art and their screening of the Shaw Bros. classic, Legendary Weapons of Kung Fu, was the most well-attended film of the festival. CAN I KICK IT? was part of The John F. Kennedy Center’s 2018-2019 Hip Hop Culture Season Lineup.
