DEC 20: Let Creative Alliance’s Artesana Magdalena teach you to make the hottest of tamales (disclaimer: please set the spice level that you desire – we are responsible for over spicin’) in this warming meal just in time for the holidays! Tamales are traditionally prepared for all sorts of occasions, such as parties, harvest celebrations, festivals, and offerings to the dead. The Artesanas are a group of talented women living in Southeast Baltimore who are natives of Latin American countries, such as Mexico, El Salvador, and Ecuador, who honor their Latin American heritage by demonstrating, sharing, and teaching traditional crafts.
