ARTIST BIOS
The Bayberries
Mexican cellist Samantha Flores is a dynamic performer-educator and arts advocate. Her musical performances and community engagements have taken her all across the United States, Latin America, and Europe. When not making music, Samantha enjoys cooking, vintage shop exploring, and reading poetry for inspiration.
A native Marylander, Hana Morford is a violist/violinist, educator and arts administrator. She believes deeply in the power of music to connect and engage communities, and has performed and taught extensively throughout the US. Hana is excited to make music beyond the classical concert halls in which she was trained, and has been so grateful to learn and grow with the Bayberries.
Danielle Williams is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, conductor, and passionate music educator who uses experiences she’s had around the world to shape her art, inspire new projects, and fuel cross-cultural collaborations. She has lived and taught music in a wide range of contexts and locations including Palestine, Brazil, France, and Tanzania.
Rachel May
Rachel May is a Baltimore-born songstress whose earliest influences spawn from outlaw country and troubadour folk. Equal parts vulnerable as she is cheeky, her live performances are rooted in musical storytelling based on her own observations and lived experiences.
Daphne Eckman
Daphne Eckman isn’t sorry about making you cry. In fact, she encourages it. The Annapolis, MD-based indie folk singer-songwriter creates an unapologetic space for catharsis: inspiring not just tears, but compelling you to laugh, sing, scream, and dance, too. Eckman’s five piece band devotes everything to emotion, drawing influences of Joni Mitchell, Phoebe Bridgers, Adrienne Lenker, and Radiohead through the filters of chamber pop, indie rock, 70’s soul, and pop-punk. Eckman has opened for Nancy Wilson of Heart, Bailen, Deb Talen of The Weepies, and Vanessa Carlton. Eckman’s debut album “where you left me”, released in January 2024, highlights her relationships and quest for autonomy in her early 20s. Eckman’s vulnerability compels the listener’s, leaving a mark healed only by hearing her again…once your tears dry.
