Located at Creative Alliance and partner host schools and libraries, Open Minds Art Club is our free after-school reading based art program for local youth to create awe-inspiring artwork. We teach students creative problem-solving techniques and use the arts to develop their critical thinking skills. Teaching includes hands-on art projects and tours through the Creative Alliance galleries. Open Minds participants create works of art. These projects include collage, painting, and performance. Student masterpieces are on display in a final exhibition.
Quote: “We’re an ongoing musical conversation, drawing on the sounds and songs of the mountains and coasts, in dialogue with distant and more contemporary roots, to share the stories of our nation and the collective Latin American spirit.”
Creative Alliance’s impact on Baltimore has been transformative. Greater Highlandtown neighborhoods are now growing and flourishing with new residents and businesses. Baltimore’s arts community is burgeoning and changing the city for the better.
