The BIG Show is Happening!

Our 25th annual members’ extravaganza IS happening! Creative Alliance presents our 25th Anniversary BIG Show Exhibition & Variety Show!

 

The BIG Show Exhibition Opening & Variety Show will take place on Saturday, July 18th, 2020 – and we want you to participate! Don’t miss the opportunity to have your artwork on the walls of our main gallery (yes, on our actual walls), or your fabulous talents showcased on our virtual stage. Who knows… you might be the next BIG thing!

The BIG Show was the very first Creative Alliance program that led to twenty-five years of artistic expression, community, cultivation of young minds, and so much joy. It all began in our original location in Fells Point in 1995 and, after few moves, landed in the renovated Patterson Theater in 2003 to spur artistic development in Highlandtown. But, Creative Alliance is more than a location, it’s more than a building, it’s a force for positive change in Southeast Baltimore and beyond, its a community of artists and audiences that believe in the power of artistic expression. And so… The BIG Show Must Go On!

This event is all about our incredibly talented members, including those that have just joined Creative Alliance and those that have been with us since the beginning and are at the heart of our organization.

The Details:

The BIG Show exhibition will be hung in our main gallery. Members’ will safely hand off their artwork to our staff, which will be hung in the main gallery. Artwork will be professionally photographed by us for additional inclusion in a digital exhibition. Creative Alliance will showcase all pieces included, promote those for sale, and highlight our included members throughout the duration of the exhibition. The BIG Show Exhibition Opening & Variety show will highlight artwork in the exhibition AND performances from our talented members!

Important Dates:
The BIG Show Drop-off & Video Submission: June 29 to July 3 (In-Person & Digital Submission)
The BIG Show Exhibition Opening & Variety Show: July 18, 2020 | 7-9pm (Virtual on Facebook Live & YouTube)
The BIG Show Exhibition on View: July 18, 2020 to September 14, 2020  (In the Main Gallery & Digital)

Visit in person: Creative Alliance will be open on Saturdays beginning July 25th from 11am to 5pm so you can view the exhibition in person! (masks must be worn at all times and only 10 people will be allowed in the building at a time. Please schedule your visit here)

1. Fill out your submission form in advance. 

2. Safely drop off your artwork at Creative Alliance between June 29th through the July 3rd, 11am to 6pm 

(Drive up, hand your artwork to our team, we will take it from there!)

Performance (Digital Submission)

The Big Show Variety Show is the wildest, wackiest show in B’more where the performers are…you! This year, we blast to the biggest stage in the world – the virtual stage.
All performance forms and styles are welcome (so long as they are suitable for audiences of ALL AGES). We welcome musicians, singers, clowns, jugglers, poets, contortionists, comedians, drag, full band performances, performance artists – the list is endless!

1. Fill out your submission form. 

2. Record your video (up to 5 minutes) and submit it to us!

The PERKS!

  • Member artists can submit one piece of artwork up to three-feet width to hang in the physical exhibition
  • Members artwork will be professionally photographed and images will be given to the artist 
  • Member artists will be included in a NEW digital exhibition online that will be promoted throughout the duration of the exhibition
  • Member performers can submit one pre-recorded performance up to five minutes long to be included in the Variety show event on July 18th
  • Members also receive the following benefits: a FREE critique of artwork, Members’ Only workshops on how to photograph your art at home, inclusion of artists website and social media in the digital exhibition.
  • Members also receive discounted tickets to events, special invitations, and more!
