Akua Allrich, a celebrated jazz vocalist, composer, educator, and cultural curator from Washington, D.C., is known for her electrifying live performances and genre-blending sound she calls “Jazz+.” Rooted in Pan-African rhythms and the traditions of the global African diaspora, her artistry uplifts Black women’s voices and indigenous legacies. Her upcoming live album weaves together vibrant Pan-African sounds, reimagined favorites from Nina Simone and Miriam Makeba, and a deeply personal tribute to her father, Agyei Akoto—honoring his influence while carrying forward a legacy of truth, love, Pan-Africanism and empowerment through music.
