Past, Present, Future: Celebrating the Arts of Johns Hopkins is a juried, interdisciplinary exhibition that brings the university’s creative legacy into focus through a dynamic artistic lens. Featuring work by students and alumni across visual art, writing, music, and performance, it connects past achievements with emerging voices shaping the future.
Twice a year we run a full Burlesque Academy cohort: nine weeks of Tuesday nights building toward a real graduation show on a real stage. This is a full commitment — nine weeks of Tuesday nights building your burlesque skills, character persona, and first act from scratch, ending the session with a ticketed live student showcase. Registration includes nine weeks of guided lessons, out-of-class coaching, costume add-ons and crafting sessions, and multiple rehearsal opportunities on the Creative Alliance main stage. All gender identities, abilities, ages, sexual preferences, races, religions, and experience levels welcome. All humans welcome, and all bodies are burlesque bodies. Taught directly by Aquarius Moon through The Moonbeam Academy.

The festival, the largest of its kind in the country, works with artists to showcase crankies from Baltimore and beyond! A crankie is basic in concept: it is a scroll that provides the visual narration to a story or song. Versions of the crankie have been around for hundreds of years, if not longer; their most recent iteration is directly linked to moving panoramas popular in the 19th Century. In recent years, artists have begun to embrace the intimacy of the format, creating multi-layered, immersive experiences for audiences.
