Explore the lush cottage gardens while listening to the jazzy grooves of the Todd Marcus Quintet, hot off their most recent tour. Listen to the powerful words of young poets from CHARM, a literary organization and magazine that amplifies young local voices. Entertain your tastebuds with delicious bites from local Mediterranean hot spot Tapas Teatro accompanied by wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Savor the best of Central West Baltimore – all artists featured at this event live in the local community and pour their hearts into their work.

Join Printmaker Tonia Matthews, international exhibiting artist and Head of Printmaking at Towson University, at the home of Anne Draddy and Ben Frederick for an intimate hands-on art-making event. Tonia and her student assistants demonstrate and share tips and secrets about the printmaking process, while you snack on treats and cocktails. Then, you and your team will create a colorful, collaborative screen that is printed on small stock. You'll leave with a unique print to add to your art collection! 

Artists Michelle Lamb, Edna K. Emmet, and Emily Lamb host a hands-on afternoon in the artist studios at Gallery 1448 creating shadow boxes centered around meaningful relationships between elements. Rifle through junk drawers to uncover broken jewelry, trinkets, or baubles. Turn trash into treasure via mementos or keepsakes. Whether you create a shrine for the cherished, a tableau of treasures, or a whimsical wonder, you’ll assemble found objects within a collaged box, creating a mixed-media diorama.

Assorted boxes, paints, glues, papers, and ephemera are provided. Please bring items or images to enshrine. You're encouraged to bring surplus junk items to add to the group's “scavenging” table, as well as your own crafting supplies.

Hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and the art on display, fuel your creativity! After your project is complete, you can explore the studio, gallery, and the shared gardens behind the space.

Sip wine, munch on delicious hors d'oeuvres and cozy chili, while listening to Peggy share her collage technique of oil paint on worked aluminum. A special addition to the afternoon is the harmonious sounds of local musicians The Bayberries. The all-female folk trio weaves together bluegrass and folk music with influences from around the world, incorporating beautiful harmonies over string and wind instruments.

BSO and Creative Alliance supporter Sandra Levi Gerstung opens her art-filled Dulaney Valley home to a lucky few for an evening with the Maestro.

Join an informal, experimental, and open to all afternoon in the lab located in Crown Industrial Park. This is your chance to explore the connections of sound, vision, and taste for a research project on “Alternative Sensory Methods for Tasting and Smelling Coffee.”

Learn about the Chladni plate, a methodology for visualizing sound, then experience the research in action! Listen to jazz guitarists Ivan Liptak and Jonathan Blazer swerve through sound as roaster Candy Schibli offers blind tastings to compare how changes of sound frequency influence your taste perception. The data from your tasting experiment will be included in Candy's next study! Enjoy lite bites that complement the coffee flavors.
