Cultural Expressions Dance for ages 7-12 – Click here for registration!

Sheena Black returns to introduce the fundamentals based on traditional African dances. Participants will be exposed to African influenced movements based on African traditions in Cuba, The Congo, Haiti, and Southern slave plantations in United States. All levels of dance experience from beginner to advanced are welcome. Come prepared with comfortable attire, bare feet, positive energy, and determination. $85, $80 mbrs.

 – 1pm
Little dancers discover the basics of ballet, including the five feet positions and French terms such as chassè, jete, and echappe. Their understanding of the basis of ballet will prepare them for exploring Modern dance. Students will have fun while working on a choreographed performance to share with friends and family! $75, $70 mbrs.

4 Saturdays: May 3 – May 24 
10am-12pm 
Video instructor Tre Subira is back by popular demand. This lab prepares students for Mr. Subira’s Advanced Video Production for Teens. Sound and cinematography are critical to the success of any movie. Participants will get hands-on experience in creating sound folios, editing music levels, and recording speech. Teens also experiment with various lenses and editing effects that will help them get just the shot they want.  $80, $75 mbrs.

8 Saturdays: May 31 – Jul 26 (no class July 5) 
10am-12pm
Teens will go from advanced levels of storyboarding to screening in this video production class. Participants will develop concepts, set lighting, direct actors, and critique their work. By the end, each student will have fully produced, directed, and edited a short movie. Teens screen their work at a culminating event for family and friends. Equipment and software provided. $150, $145 mbrs.

Christopher Dunn, graduate of Peabody Conservatory and founder of Face to Face, teaches students how to play the guitar in a group ensemble setting. Students are equipped with lessons in rhythm skills, music terminology, guitar positioning, chords and scales, and a variety of musical genres, from rock to classical. All participants are granted access to Face to Face Guitar online follow-up tutorials during the length of the workshop. Participants will develop a final performance to share with friends and family. $140, $135 mbrs. Guitars are not included.
