Location: Creative Alliance, 3134 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD
Salary: $52,500/year
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Reports To: Special Projects Director – Visual Arts
Position Summary:
Creative Alliance seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Visual Arts Manager to coordinate the day-to-day execution of the organization’s visual arts programming. This full-time position oversees the logistics of exhibitions, assists with residency operations, and supports film-related visual arts events.
While the Visual Arts and Special Projects Director leads Creative Alliance’s most strategic and high-profile gallery installations, the Visual Arts Manager ensures smooth implementation of the broader exhibition calendar, including artist support, installation logistics, and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibition Management
Coordinate and manage logistics for most gallery exhibitions, including scheduling, art handling, shipping/receiving, and supply procurement
Assist with gallery installations and deinstallations in partnership with artists, curators, and facilities staff
Support Special Projects Director on strategic exhibitions as needed
- Artist Relations & Residency Coordination
Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for exhibiting and resident artists
Coordinate artist schedules, contracts, hospitality, and logistical needs with support of the Audience Service Manager
Assist with public events, open studios, and artist engagement opportunities
- Visual Arts Film Program Support
Manage logistics for film screenings and visual arts events.
Coordinate event setup, projection support, and artist/filmmaker communication
