The Lifetime Achievement Award honors those who have lifted up the arts in Baltimore throughout the course of their careers. This year, in honor of our 30th Anniversary, we are honoring Creative Alliance’s first Director of Education, Linda DePalma.
As Education Director of Creative Alliance, DePalma founded out-of-school innovative arts programming for Baltimore City youth, Open Minds and Kerplunk!, Saturday sessions where multi-generational art making is continuing to take place in the new Education Center. In addition, she served as Coordinator of Teacher Services at The Baltimore Museum of Art and the first Director of School 33 Art Center.
She is also a visual artist interested in sculpture and public spaces and has received a number of public art commissions in the region including the Maryland Public Health Laboratory, Ladew Topiary Gardens, and Brookside Gardens.

The Golden Formstone Award honors those whose commitment to arts, innovation, education, and culture. Local photographer and Baltimore School for the Arts faculty member Joe Giordano is the 2025 honoree.
Joseph (J.M.) Giordano is an award-winning photojournalist based in Baltimore and co-host of the photojournalism podcast, 10 Frames Per Second with Molly Roberts. His book, We Used to Live At Night (Culture Crush Editions) chronicles 25 years of the city at night. His work has been featured in major international publications including ProPublica, Architectural Digest, The Guardian and Rolling-Stone. In 2024, he was named a finalist for the prestigious National Gallery’s Outwin Boochever Portrait Prize and will be featured in American Photography Annual 40 for his second book 13-23, covering a decade of Baltimore’s homicide rate. Trumpland, Giordano’s newest publication, is out now.
