Meet Two NEW Members of the Creative Alliance Team!

Joy Davis Brooke Bomberger

We are thrilled to announce two new team members have joined the Creative Alliance staff! Joy Davis our Visual Arts Director and Brooke Bomberger who now heads our Education Department. Please join us in welcoming them to the team!

Joy Davis

Visual Arts Director | Joy@creativealliance.org
Joy Davis is an experienced curator, curatorial director, and an independent scholar of cultural and fashion history. In her tenure at the Walters Art Museum she, along with her staff, drove the museum forward with digital programming that encompassed some of the most diverse programming in the museum’s history. From 2015 to present she co-hosts and produces Unravel Podcast, a fashion history and culture podcast. Her scholarly projects include subject matter that is underdeveloped in academia and transcends many fields of study: fashion, history, art, media, and performance among people of color throughout history. She received her B.A. degrees in History and Media Studies from the University of Maryland, and her M.A. in Fashion and Museum Studies from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

She believes that a higher education should not be a prerequisite to create, distribute, or communicate art. Joy would like to bring community and audience members into dialogue through programming, exhibitions, and workshops amplifying Black voices and other voices of color.

Brooke L. Bomberger

Education Director | Brooke@creativealliance.org
Brooke Bomberger grew up in Harford County, MD, where her mom made sure to keep her steeped in creative projects, from annual Christmas ornaments to elaborate coloring contests. From there, she incorporated creativity into as many aspects of her life as possible, from school projects and embellished quote journals in high school, to project-based assignments when teaching social studies and working in out of school time programming. She currently indulges her creative urges through a small bakery business, baking and decorating cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Elizabethtown College, and has used her experiences as an educator to move from the classroom to the youth development world, serving as a leader at the Inner Harbor Project, NPower, and the Y in Central Maryland. She is a current Greektown resident and the president of the Greektown Neighborhood Association, where she works to support the Greektown community and collaborate with the other Southeast Baltimore leaders. She is truly in love with Baltimore, the Southeast Baltimore community specifically, and is excited to work with the team at Creative Alliance to make it an even brighter place to live.
