I’ve Endured: Women of Old-Time Music Exhibition

Creative Alliance is honored to host "I've Endured: Women of Old Time Music" an exhibition presented at Birthplace of Country Music Museum in 2023. Originally created by a women-led content team the exhibition “I’ve Endured: Women in Old-Time Music” spotlights commercial success stories and iconic musicians like Mother Maybelle and Sara Carter, Ola Belle Reed, Elizabeth Cotten, Lily May Ledford, Hazel Dickens, Etta Baker, and Alice Gerrard.

Exhibition | Gathered Perspectives: Resident Artist Exhibition

See what the resident artists have been working on over the last year in a celebration of artistic practice. The exhibition "Gathered Perspectives" is a salon-style presentation of work from Ajee Hassan, Anna Divinagracia, Bria Sterling-Wilson, Candice Tavares, kolpeace, Hope and Faith McCorkle, and Huynh Trang.

Free Community Pilates w/ Shayla Thomas

Shadows of the Soul: A Self-Love Workshop

Looking for a Valentine’s Day treat that nourishes your soul? Join transdisciplinary artist HOPE McCorkle for a workshop inspired by her recent solo exhibition “dancing with my shadows: a journey to self-discovery” at the Creative Alliance (Baltimore, MD). Show yourself some love by expressing your essence through reflective journaling and collage, creating a self-portrait that represents your most radiant parts. This iteration of the Shadows of the Soul workshop series focuses on honoring the love within, with writing prompts emphasizing self-love, gratitude, and self-compassion!

Belly Dance with Naimah Dances

Learn classic and modern Middle Eastern style belly dance. Both a social dance and a form of entertainment, belly dance is a great way to meet amazing people and learn about Egyptian history and culture. Pick up the foundational moves and vocabulary of belly dance, while learning about ethics, etiquette, music, and history of belly dance. And be ready to MOVE! We'll explore isolations, spatial awareness, strength, flexibility, and some use of props. All experience levels welcome!

This monthly program shares ways to meet the challenges of daily life by staying connected to our choices without reacting to people and situations. This is an opportunity to discover well-being within your body and mind regardless of your situation.

Talking Feet: Feeling Flatfoot’s Origins

Join us on February 13 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM for a special performance by Brinae Ali, accompanied by a talented guitarist, as they celebrate the rich tradition of buck dancing in honor of the legendary Algia Mae Hinton. This dynamic evening will feature a performance of Talking Feet a rendition of Algia Mae Hinton's piece inspired by the roots of African American step dance and its deep connections to old-time music. Brinae Ali’s skillful interpretation brings these traditions to life, showcasing the powerful storytelling and rhythmic precision that define buck dancing.

Our Box Office is currently open from Noon to 5pm on Tuesday thru Saturdays and one hour before all ticketed events. We accept cash, cards, and checks. Service fees are waived for in-person ticket purchases.
