Guitarist Kevin Jackson teams up with singer Cedric La’Mont Johnson for a soulful Serenade to set off musical fireworks. The two have over thirty years of experience in R&B, rock, funk, pop, classic soul, country, blues, and jazz. Expect a set that jumps from Earth, Wind & Fire to Bon Jovi and everything in between.
Guitarist Kevin Jackson has recorded and performed with Sheila E., Chico Debarge, Jennifer Holliday, Maysa, Oli Silk, and more. His potent mix of soulful R&B, rock, contemporary Christian, and contemporary jazz offers something for every taste. It’s easy to see he is most comfortable performing on stage. Kevin is a laid back guitar player, but don’t let that fool you – in a live performance he and his band sneak up on you with tight grooves and sly melodies.
Singer Cedric La’Mont Johnson is known for being a classic balladeer. During his musical journey, Cedric has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with acts such as Patti Label, Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Rob Base, Roy Ayers, Pieces of a Dream, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Parliament Funkadelic, Cameo, Morris Day, The Time, Ja Rule, and Slim Man. Several of these musical endeavors have taken him across the US and abroad, including a short stay in Amsterdam with the artist En Vogue and Joe.
July 4th Serenades: To close the Serenades season, we chose July 4th to celebrate the power of music and community in Baltimore. Support these artists. Support Baltimore.
About Sidewalk Serenades:
Creative Alliance believes that a Baltimore without live performances is a Baltimore without joy – and we won’t stand for that!
As you likely know, working musicians, dancers, magicians, burlesque performers, aerialists, and other performance-based artists have had their gigs and their livelihoods cancelled for the foreseeable future. Join Creative Alliance in creating performance opportunities for these artists throughout Baltimore while simultaneously respecting the need for everyone to keep a safe distance.
Beginning this week Creative Alliance will offer you the opportunity to have a short performance with two to three songs delivered to the front of your home (or a friend/loved one’s home) for a small fee.
Performers will come to the confirmed address, text the residence upon arrival and, like a burst of sunlight through these gray skies, share their talents from the sidewalk. The donations from each of these performance events will be shared between the artist and Creative Alliance to help keep the arts alive and thriving in Baltimore!
