When Chef Amendola is not in the kitchen, he is in the woods. “I got into foraging because I love to cook and love to wander in the woods.” It was this that inspired his acclaimed Hampden Restaurant Foraged Eatery - a chef’s love for finding food in nature combined with a love for cooking flavorful food.
Chef Chris leads you and a small group of 10 on a foraging adventure! Learn the basics of foraging, mushroom hunting, safety protocol, and identification. The fall harvest in Maryland brings pawpaws, mushrooms, nuts, and more. Chef Chris shares tips and tricks for making the most out of your foraged finds and seasonal ingredients.
Wear comfortable shoes for hiking, bring a mask, and a basket or bag for taking your finds home!
All proceeds support free education and community arts programs for youth. Our education team is working hard to provide thousands of youth and their families free, high quality arts and academic programs, workshops, and events during this particularly trying time.
