Join us for a fun, family-friendly event that celebrates the immigrant and refugee communities that make up Baltimore’s diverse cultural landscape. Food, music, student art exhibitions, art vendors, piñata-making, face-painting, and other activities by various partnering refugee groups will be available.

SCHEDULE
12-2PM | Food, art, and family activities throughout Creative Alliance
2-3:30PM | Performances in the theater

PERFORMANCES
2PM | Hope Choir of Nations, hosted by Asylee Women Enterprise, is a group of men and women from around the world who sing songs in English, French and local African languages.
2:30PM | Jóvenes en Acción, a group for teenagers interested in activating the community through dance.
3:10PM | Duo WAYTA, a pan-flute, charanga, and guitar multi-instrumental extravaganza interprets traditional Guatemalan songs through the lens of Central and South American folk traditions.

Students from the Refugee Youth Project perform traditional songs and dance from Myanmar and Nepal between our three headlining performances.

ART by local refugee artists provided by International Refugee Committee, Lutheran Immigrant and Refugee Services, Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) with Refugee Youth Project, and Towson University with Youth Artists and Allies Taking Action in Society (YAAAS!)

Regal Clothes -- African head-wrap demonstrations

Alejandra Martinez – Mexican cuisine

ARTIST VENDORS
Regal Clothes – Craft clothing and accessories using traditional African fabrics.
Sughra Hussainy – local Baltimore visual artist originally from Afghanistan
Mervat al Ali -- Syrian crochet items

Ven con toda la familia a Creative Alliance y ayúdanos a celebrar las comunidades inmigrantes y refugiados que forman gran parte de la cultura diversa y bonita de Baltimore. ¡Habrá comida, música, exhibiciones de arte por estudiantes, vendedores de arte, talleres de piñatas, pinta-caritas, y otras actividades por nuestros socios organizativos!

PRESENTACIONES

2PM | Hope Choir of Nations, un coro cuyos miembros vienen de todo el mundo y cantan en inglés, francés, e idiomas africanos

2:30 PM | Jóvenes en Acción, un grupo de jóvenes interesados en mejorar la comunidad a través del baile

3:10 PM | Duo WAYTA, un gran espectáculo de charango, zampoñas, guitarra, ¡y más! Van a presentar música típica de Guatemala interpretada por los estilos musicales de Sudamérica

Estudiantes del Proyecto de los Jóvenes Refugiados presentarán música y bailes tradicionales de Myanmar y Nepal entre los tres espectáculos principales.

ARTE por artistas refugiadas locales proporcionado por el Comité Internacional de Rescate, En Servicios Luteranos de Inmigración y para Refugiados, La Universidad Comunitaria de la Ciudad de Baltimore (BCCC) con Proyecto de los Jóvenes Refugiados, y la Universidad de Towson con Youth Artists and Allies Taking Action in Society (¡YAAAS!)
