Baltimore's World Refugee Day at The Walters Art Museum

Baltimore’s World Refugee Day has grown so large that we’re presenting it at The Walters! The international showcase celebrates Baltimore as the home to talented refugees and immigrants. Baltimore’s favorite beat boxer, Shodekeh, headlines w/ all of the international acts. Students of BCCC's Refugee Youth Project open with multimedia performances. Eritrean husband & wife, Abebe Setarge & Eyersaliem Zemichael, sing to African beats. Sokoja Kondorka, musician from Darfur, sings in native masalit and fur languages while playing electric guitar. Visit our organizations on the Sculpture Court throughout the day and hear indigenous Kurdish music by Ghazi Kurdistani, Ali Omar & Halgurd Omar from 1-1:30pm. Art exhibition by BCCC's Refugee Youth Project and Torture Abolition and Survivor Support Coalition on the Level 2 Lobby.  Family art making in Studio A, 10am-3pm and Studio B, 1-3:00pm. Enter on Charles Street. 1pm exhibit & Kurdish music. 1:30pm showcase in auditorium. FREE!
