An intro to movement, breath and basic techniques for puppetry. No prior performance experience required, but do bring your curiosity and sense of play!

Puppetry is a form of storytelling that has been around for centuries, across many cultures. The purpose of puppetry is simple: bringing inanimate objects to life. In order to do this successfully, there are basic skills that you can learn to achieve nuance and clarity in your performance. In this introductory workshop, we will work with simple paper puppets as we focus on breath, point of view and movement. You’ll have the opportunity to work individually with small puppets, and in teams to animate larger puppets. No prior performance experience required, but do bring your curiosity and sense of play!
