La Posada 2024

Saturday, December 14th | 5- 9PM | FREE

The term “posada” translates to “shelter” or “inn” in Spanish. This cherished tradition of the Posada beautifully reenacts the biblical tale of Mary and Joseph’s pilgrimage to Bethlehem, as they seek a haven for the night. It is also a time to celebrate, express heartfelt gratitude, and offer a fond farewell to Our Lady of Pompei Church, which has graciously embraced the community and Creative Alliance since 2014.

5- 6 PM | The community is invited to join a singing candle-lit procession through the streets of Highlandtown starting at Creative Alliance and stopping by local businesses until arriving at Our Lady of Pompei Church.

6- 9 PM | The night ends with a fiesta, traditional food, performances, raffles, and piñata breaking to celebrate that everyone is welcome here!

Esta querida tradición de la Posada recrea maravillosamente el relato bíblico de la peregrinación de María y José a Belén, mientras buscan un refugio para pasar la noche. También es un momento para celebrar, expresar gratitud de corazón, y ofrecer una cariñosa despedida a la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Pompei que ha acogido gentilmente a la comunidad y Creative Alliance desde el 2014.

5-6 PM |  La comunidad está invitada a unirse a una procesión cantando a la luz de las velas por las calles de Highlandtown empezando en Creative Alliance y parando por negocios locales hasta llegar a la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Pompei.

6-9 PM | ¡La noche termina con una fiesta, comida tradicional, presentaciones, rifas, y el rompimiento de piñatas para celebrar que todos somos bienvenidos aquí!
