Spend the afternoon engaged in artistic expression within the safety of the gallery walls at the Creative Alliance. Ashley Dequilla leads you on a journey of self-expressions, exploration, and healing as you create a 72” x 32“ abstract figure portrait. These large-scale, self-portraits symbolize a psychic re-connection in consciousness between the body and spirit and explore the healing process through art.

In this 3-hour workshop, students will be introduced to basic macrame and weaving techniques in order to complete a wall hanging. Macrame knots covered will include the lark's head knot, square knot, and double half hitch. Weaving techniques will include the tabby weave, soumak weave, and rya knots. Each student will leave the workshop with a 1 ft wide by 2-3 ft long piece of art to hang on their wall or gift to a friend.

Creative Alliance convenes some of the brightest old time musicians, singers, and dancers in the country to celebrate where this music exists today. Join host artists Ken & Brad Kolodner for the Baltimore Old Time Music Festival! On Friday night, Ken and Brad welcome a dizzying lineup of musicians including The Foghorn Stringband, Bill and The Belles, Amythyst Kiah, T-Mart Rounders, and Red Tail Ring, for two days of brilliant musicianship, shimmering vocal harmonies, and hot flatfoot dance.

For grades 4th-6th

In this FREE eight-week art class students are encouraged to celebrate their unique attributes by exploring concepts of science fiction, culture, fantasy, math, art, and science. Youth will explore how to tap into their own super strength and use elements of science, technology, and literature to think about ways to make our world a better place.
