Spend the afternoon immersed in the recent work of sculptor John Ruppert, inspired by his experience in the High Arctic. During the Summer Solstice of 2019, he participated in a residency on a sailing vessel off the Archipelago of Svalbard, Norway. While in the Arctic, he witnessed the vanishing ice and documented it through photography and sound. Ruppert channels the forces of nature in his artwork, and his experience in the Arctic expands his artistic practice into a new frozen territory. Enjoy a Nordic cuisine (smoked fishes and game meat, pickled veggies, aquavit and beer) as you engage with this special exhibition in his cavernous studio space.
