Art To Dine For season of sparkling soirees is here again! Our fascinating collectors, designers, artists, musicians, singers, dancers and arts lovers generously welcome you into their homes, lofts, studios or workplaces for an insider’s view of Baltimore’s vivacious art scene. Art To Dine For supports Creative Alliance’s free and reduced artistic, youth education, and outreach programs.

Carolyn Black-Sotir and Michael Sotir open their handsome renovated barn at Silo Hill in Phoenix for a night of wide-ranging line dancing! Yummy barbecue by Station North Arts Catering.

Make It & Break It – FRI SEP 16 | 6-9pm

Celebrate with Creative Alliance’s Artesanas Mexicanas piñata artists as they share their traditions and teach you how to create and design your own brilliant piñata star with full tissue paper details.  Special prices for children! Sponsored by Towson University’s College of Fine Arts & Communication and Seawall Development

Art Camp – SAT SEP 17 | 2-4:30pm CANCELED
Look forward to an afternoon of pure fun and bring the kids, too! Explore the 100-year-old barn Virginia Sperry has converted into her welding studio where she creates life-sized animals and birds out of steel.

Add some spice to your life and come feast on an extravagant Sri Lankan spread prepared by chef, author, DJ, and tour guide Skiz Fernando.

Cultural Ambassador – WED SEP 21 | 6-9pm
Musical Director of the Baltimore Choral Arts Society and Host of WYPR’s Maryland Morning, Tom Hall shares his experiences as a broadcaster, performer, lecturer, writer, and educator and discusses the energetic evolution of the local art scene.  

History Meets Contemporary – FRI SEP 23 | 6:30-9:30pm
Architect and artist Myrna Poirier’s 200-year-old multicolored grouping of four clapboard rowhouses decorate Ann Street in Fells Point. Learn about the house’s history, renovation, and art while sipping wine and enjoying music in Myrna’s colorful walled garden with its 100-year-old grapevine and waterfall. 

Fruitenanny – SAT SEP 24 | 4-7pm
Once a circa 1915 barn, Creative Alliance trustee Lauren Calia and husband Angelo Otterbein’s stunning contemporary home sits by the Gunpowder River. This end of summer hoedown promises foot-stomping fun with home style fruit-flavored dishes.

Photographers Aliza and Michael Friedman open their Pikesville home for guests to enjoy an evening of international arts. Along with her beautiful, original jewelry, guests can view the art the couple has collected from Israel, Nigeria, Thailand, Monte Carlo, and China — as well as a delicious Middle Eastern Dinner. Ultrafaux plays original jazz.

Paul and Mary Streb host a raucous evening of stand-up comedy when the hilarious duo Jason Weems and Elahe Izadi perform at the Streb’s contemporary home in Columbia. 

BYOB (Bring Your Own Bike) – SUN OCT 2 | 10am-1pm
Pedal along the hilly paths, slow down and take in the beauty of Druid Hill Park, Baltimore’s 745 acre urban oasis filled with natural art and historic architecture. Co-hosted by Anne Draddy and the Friends of Druid Hill Park.

Botanicals’ Spirits – FRI OCT 7 | 6:30-9pm
Photographer Robert Creamer captures the “spirits” of flowers and fauna as they leave behind their decaying beauty. Using the most basic of office equipment he’ll teach you how to scan these beauties, while you sip spirits made from locally sourced botanicals. Sponsored by Creative Alliance Trustee, Rebecca Rothey 

KAL’s Election Draw-ma – SAT OCT 8 | 6:30-9:30pm
As election season heats up, break bread with world class political cartoonist Kevin ”KAL” Kallaugher! Buffett catered by Mama’s on the Half Shell.

Pie Time! – FRI OCT 14 | 6:30-9pm
Artist Lois Borgenicht opens her art-filled Roland Park home for you to enjoy freshly baked pies by her son, Max Reim, proprietor of Pie Time.

Woman Power – SAT OCT 15 | 4-6pm
Two dynamic voices, Joyce J. Scott and Melissa Raye, come together on the new Motor House stage for an evening of vocals extraordinaire. Congratulate Joyce for receiving on of this year’s MacArthur Fellows for being the creative thinker that she is!

Formstone and Sock Monkeys – SAT OCT 15 | 6:30-8:30pm
Experience a rare cinematic treat at this special screening of two award winning short documentaries about Baltimore produced by Lillian Bowers. Hosted by Anne Draddy and Ben Frederick

Jazzed in Sobo – FRI OCT 21 | 6-9pm
Chill with friends, as jazz flutist Andrea Brachfeld and her quartet offer an evening of spicy jazz at Betamore, one of Baltimore’s hottest new tech and education spaces. Co-hosted by: CA Trustees: Shaina Hernandez, Janet Smith, Sophia Silbergeld,and Rachel Edds.

Apples to Art! – SUN OCT 23 | 2-5pm
It’s a festive fall afternoon in the artful Mount Washington home and orchard of Creative Alliance trustee and Rubys award-winning artist Julia Kim Smith and professor and orchardist Scott Smith. You’ll be surprised by the variety of delicious fruits they cultivate in their own backyard.

BYOV (Bring Your Own Vinyl) – FRI OCT 28 | 8-11pm
BYOV says muralist Michael Owen to his Soul Train inspired house party. Think Earth Wind and Fire and Sly & The Family Stone and dance, mingle or lounge with friends in the hookah area, while sipping specialty cocktails. 

The Nature of Things – SUN OCT 30 | 2-5pm
Spend the afternoon immersed in the work of sculptor John Ruppert while sampling Pan-African cooking.

Learn about former director of the Walters Art Museum Gary Vikan’s book, available this fall, “Sacred and Stolen: Confessions of a Museum Art Director” over a three-course gourmet meal prepared by Gary and Elana at their Guilford home.

From Holy Land to Graceland – THU NOV 3 | 6-8pm
Partake of the King’s favorite foods – peanut butter and banana sandwiches with a side of bacon wrapped meatballs prepared by Kim Battista – while scholar and raconteur, Gary Vikan, tells fascinating stories about the ways Elvis fan “worship” parallels medieval deification rituals. 

Paper Marbling – SAT NOV 5 | Noon-3pm
Drop colored inks in water, next swirl, feather, blow, or brush them into a pattern, and capture the colors on paper. Let your creative side loose and take home a notecard, bookmark, or stationery!  Hosted by Eric & Christina Fenton.

SOLD OUT Italian Sunday Supper – SUN NOV 6 | 3-6pm
Expect a slightly rowdy affair full of laughter and wine and a spread of delectable foods! Learn the secrets of making traditional pasta. Play bocce and lawn games in Patterson Park before and after supper.

NEW DATE The Jeweler and the Cook – SUN NOV 6 | 6-9pm
Gourmet cook Eddie Seidel prepares foods in interesting shapes, colors, textures and patterns that guests can sculpt inspired by the organic designs of Jewelry designer Shana Kroiz’s jewelry. Guests are encouraged to play with their food! 

A Wheel Good Time – SUN NOV 13 | 4-7pm
The Potters Guild of Baltimore knows how to throw a party! Guests can get down and dirty with clay and experiment at the wheel. Enjoy delicious soup in hand thrown bowls.  Hosted by CA trustee Mark Lapointe & Kirsten Lapointe
