Creative Alliance | A letter from Margaret Footner

Dear Creative Alliance Family,

I am happy to announce that after 23 years as the founding Executive Director, I am transitioning my role to focus on our first major expansion since opening The Patterson. Creative Alliance is planning Baltimore’s new Creativity Center!

Located right across Eastern Ave from The Patterson, the new facility will expand our classroom/workshop space for multi-cultural classes, workshops and community programs for all ages. You’ll be hearing more about the Creativity Center in the months to come.

Deputy Director Gina Caruso, senior manager for 5 years, will take the helm on March 1. Gina is excited to lead our remarkable team, and she is committed to our vision for artistic excellence, cultural bridge-building, and equity.

Gina brings great experience to her new role. Prior to working at the Creative Alliance, she was Director and Film Curator at the Honolulu Museum’s Doris Duke Theatre, served as Manager of Public Programs at the Walters, worked as an editor and writer for The Washington Post Magazine, and taught at the Waldorf School of Baltimore.

The growth of the Creative Alliance as an innovative presenter, educator, and community builder is an accomplishment we all can be proud of. Together we’ve demonstrated the transformative impact of our artists and cultural community in creating Baltimore’s future. Thank you for being a part of the Creative Alliance. Let’s keep transforming Baltimore together!

– Warm regards,
Margaret Footner
Founding Executive Director
