Voiceover acting is an important skill in the entertainment industry in radio, television, film, commercials, and videogames. This workshop is open to beginners interested in learning the business, or a seasoned professional looking for a brush up. Gain recording experience from Jason Sasportas, head of the voiceover department for Stewart Talent. Then learn from powerhouse casting director Andy Roth, a New York-based casting director for over 20 years, via Skype about the casting process, finishing with an opportunity to read a script sample for Roth and receive feedback about your test audition!
Jason Sasportas has booked clients on numerous national network campaigns, including Verizon, Subway, Fisher Price, Wendy’s, Stouffer’s, Nicorette, Liberty Mutual, Dannon, HBOGo, Stouffer’s, Yoplait, and Kitchen Aide. While commercials are his focus, Jason covers all areas of voiceover. His voiceover acting clients narrate audio books, documentaries, animated series, and videogames.
Specializing in Voice Over, Andy Roth is one of New York’s busiest casting directors with a career that has spanned over two decades. After several years as the in house casting director for one of the country’s top commercial talent agencies, Cunningham Escott Slevin & Doherty (CESD), where he did the voice casting for over a thousand projects for animation, commercial, television, film, video games and more, he decided to strike out on his own. Since then he has been working with many of the biggest advertising agencies, casting houses and production companies in the world. He has worked on projects for such high profile companies as Blizzard Entertainment, Disney, Rockstar Games, Nickelodeon, Kraft, Bank of America and many more, and his handiwork can be seen on just about any network, cable channel, video game system, and all over the Internet.
An award-winning writer/producer. His most recent animated projects “Enchanted Thyme – The Delicious Adventure Series,” and “The Peculiar Adventures of Willow B. Star,” gained him national attention and a prestigious 2016 Telly Award. His first short film “The Lovers” staring Steven Ogg (Westworld, The Walking Dead, Grand Theft Auto) and Chris Phillips (Ice Age, Max Payne) was picked up for global distribution by Hypnotic. He then went on to work with Daily Show writer, J.R. Havlan to Co-Produce “The Catskill Chainsaw Redemption.”
With a teaching resume that boasts three of the Hollywood Reporter’s top rated acting schools, Andy is a faculty member at New York University’s famed Tisch school and is a regular guest artist/speaker at many highly regarded acting programs including Rutgers and Syracuse. His voice over workshops sell out months in advance, and he was recently voted “Best Voice Over Teacher in NY” by Backstage.
