Suzan Rouse: Breaking Bread
Event Type: exhibitions
On View: July 28 – Aug 12
Reception: Friday, July 28 | 6 – 8pm | FREE
An exhibition of watercolor monoprints, ceramics, and etchings depicting the artist’s friends and family, all based loosely on the sharing of world cultures through the lens of food. According to the artist “food as a common denominator brings us together, whether in our home, kitchen, or out at a local eatery. Some of my artwork references my time as a chef and waitress in restaurants and cafes.” Along with her time in the kitchen, Rouse was also a graphic designer who created logos and advertisements for Louie’s Bookstore Café, amongst many other revered institutions. Suzan Rouse is currently a member and resident of Artist’s Housing, Inc.
